Under the 2025 Africa Day theme, “Strengthening the Continent through Unity, Justice, and Sustainable Development,” CoRMSA participated in the Africa Day Solidarity Walk hosted by civil society organisations.
On 24 May 2025, activists and civil society organisations took to the streets of Newtown and Braamfontein, marching in solidarity for justice, unity, and resistance against all forms of oppression on the African continent. The peaceful march began at Mary Fitzgerald Square in Newtown and concluded at Constitution Hill, carried under the powerful banner “No to Oppression in Africa.”
Following the walk, a panel discussion was held at Constitution Hill, focusing on unpacking the essence of Africanism—its ideals, lived realities, and the road ahead for the continent.
