CoRMSA participated in the Women’s Summit on Migration, led by one of our member organisation, Africa Unite. The summit brought together stakeholders from across the Southern African Development Community (SADC) region to address the critical issues faced by migrant women, refugees, and asylum seekers.
Summit Objectives:
- Enhance migrant women’s knowledge of policy and advocate for equal access to services, education, training, economic opportunities, and job security.
- Challenge stereotypes and promote positive stories about migrant women, refugees, and asylum seekers.
- Establish and strengthen partnerships between migrant women’s networks, civil society organisations (CSOs), government officials, and the private sector.
- Foster dialogue on gender-based violence against migrant women and provide tools for reporting such abuses.
- Empower all stakeholders to collaborate and advocate for improvements in the lives of migrant women.
CoRMSA remains committed to working alongside other partners to create a more inclusive and equitable environment for migrant women in the SADC region.
