- Stalls
CoRMSA displayed its information materials at its stall from the 21st to the 23rd of March 2024 at the Constitution Hill during the Human Rights Festival 2024. We met our target audiences, who flock to our stall in numbers, spoke to them and shared more information about our works. We distributed a lot of educational materials on human rights and CoRMSA branded cups to our stall visitors to express our gratitude. It was indeed a great opportunity to meet them in person.

2. Pannel Discussion
CoRMSA hosted a Panel Discussion Side Event during the Human Rights Festival on the 23rd of March 2024 on the White Paper on Citizenship, Immigration and Refugee Protection. The discussion was central to the implications of the White Paper on migration. Diverse participants attended, ranging from our target audiences, member organisations and partner organisations. Part of our Panellists included our member organisations, Lawyers for Human Rights and Scalabrini Centre of Cape Town as well as our partner organisation, Helen Suzman Foundation. This also gave us an opportunity to unpack our position on the White Paper as per our submissions. The engagement between the Panellists and the participants was admirable.
Panel Discussion topic: “Implications of the White Paper on Citizenship, Immigration and Refugee Protection, on migration: A potential human rights violation.”

3. “We The People Walk”.
We were also thrilled to join various Human Rights Defenders to promote the human rights of asylum seekers, refugees and migrants through a 5Km Walk during the Human Rights Festival on the 24th of March 2024. We managed to raise awareness about their rights in solidarity.
