Last Week Updates:
CoRMSA along with other member organisations made submissions to the proposed regulations to the Birth and Death Registration Act. One of the main issues with these regulations is birth certificates will no longer be issued to foreign children but rather a ‘confirmation of birth’ certificate. Legal identity to key to accessing basic human rights, this regulation will cause further injustice for children accessing health care and education.
