Police Contact Numbers to Report Xenophobic Violence

Police in Gauteng and the Western Cape have provided contact numbers to report outbreaks or realistic threats of xenophobic violence. Please ensure that these numbers are not abused but these can be used to report cases where a person feels there is a real chance of violence breaking out in that area or to report that violence has already broken out.

In Gauteng, the contact people are:

* Colonel Makaringe (Head of Visible Policing in Gauteng) – 082 778 5933
* Lieutenant-Colonel Ramahuma – 083 416 8792
* Captain Mdletshe – 083 983 4253
* Captain Mahlatsi – 079 892 9840

In the Western Cape, people are urged to contact the branch commanders of the local stations using the numbers on the attached sheet.
