New Policy Brief on Labour in De Doorns

The Forced Migration Studies Programme (FMSP) at Wits University has published a second migration policy brief focusing on issues of labour and the violence and displacement that took place in De Doorns in the Western Cape recently. Displacement Continues in Polokwane

Zimbabwean nationals displaced by xenophobic violence last week in Westernburg, Polokwane remain displaced as efforts continue to find ways to assist them. The response from the local Disaster Management service has reportedly been very good so far with shelter and other assistance being rapidly provided. New Violence and Displacement in Polokwane

There has been further violence and displacement in Polokwane. A number of people are currently receiving shelter at the old Peter Mokaba stadium following violence in the Westernburg area. A number of CoRMSA members as well as international organisations are responding to the displacement with local government officials.
