South African Human Rights Commission Calls for Submissions on Response to Xenophobic Violence

The South African Human Rights Commission is commencing its investigation into the xenophobic violence of 2008. CoRMSA approached the Commission in December 2008 requesting this investigation after no such investigations were undertaken by government institutions. The Commission’s focus ion the investigation will be on the responses to the violence by government authorities with a mandate relating to law and order, security and justice. The Commission has now called for submissions from civil society groups on this subject.

Submissions must be sent to the researcher Tamlyn Monson at TMonson@sahrc.org.za by Friday 20th November. For further details of the call for submissions, click Call for Submissions.
